Understanding DNA Matches on FamilySearch

DNA Matches Explained

FamilySearch connects with DNA testing companies to help you find genetic relatives. Here's how to use this feature:

Step 1: Link Your DNA Test

Go to Activities > DNA. Follow the prompts to connect your test from Ancestry, 23andMe, or other providers.

Step 2: View Your Matches

Once connected, you'll see a list of people who share DNA with you. Matches are sorted by the amount of shared DNA.
